About Liv Dockerty
Liv Dockerty is a remarkable Abstract Realist painter originating from Miami’s rich artistic milieu. As the daughter of art collectors, Dockerty’s childhood was steeped in the world of art, with visits to some of the world’s most prestigious museums and galleries. This early exposure played a pivotal role in shaping her artistic path.
Pursuing her artistic dreams, Dockerty attended the renowned Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. This experience provided her with a broad understanding of various art and design disciplines. Returning to Miami, she set up her home studio, dedicating herself to her true passion: painting.
Initially, Dockerty’s work revolved around vibrant abstract paintings inspired by natural elements, particularly the sky. Her style evolved, focusing on clouds’ mesmerizing nature, colors, and transient beauty. This led to her unique hybrid style, blending abstraction and realism. Using interference paints, Dockerty’s cloud paintings change hues depending on the viewer’s perspective, capturing the ephemeral and dynamic essence of the sky.
Celebrating the Miami Sky: The Moonlight and Sunrise Series
Dockerty’s recent work is categorized into two series: the Moonlight Series and the Sunrise Series. The Moonlight Series features moonlit clouds set against a night sky, dominated by cooler shades and grays. In contrast, the Sunrise Series bursts with a spectrum of colors, from soft pinks to vibrant oranges and blues, depicting the morning sky’s tranquil beauty.
