SUMMARY:Beyond the Surface: From Reality to Dream
DESCRIPTION:Beyond the Surface: From Reality to Dream examines the shifting boundaries between observation\, imagination\, and illusion. Moving between Realism\, Surrealism\, and Photorealism\, the exhibition explores how artists redefine what we consider “real.” \nFrom intimate portrayals of everyday life to dreamlike distortions of the subconscious and hyper-precise painted illusions that rival photography\, the works on view challenge perception at every turn. What appears familiar becomes uncanny. What feels imagined becomes tangible. \nBy juxtaposing grounded representation with surreal narrative and technical virtuosity\, the exhibition invites viewers to look closer — to question whether what they see is documentation\, invention\, or something suspended between the two. \nAcross generations and approaches\, Beyond the Surface reveals that reality is never singular. It is interpreted\, constructed\, and transformed through the artist’s lens.

SUMMARY:Hues of Desire
DESCRIPTION:Hues of Desire is an exploration of longing as both emotion and experience—felt\, imagined\, and expressed through color and form. Across the exhibition\, desire unfolds not as a single sensation\, but as a shifting spectrum shaped by memory\, intuition\, and perception. \nThe works on view approach color as an emotional language\, where subtle tones and bold gestures reveal the many ways passion\, aspiration\, and intimacy surface within the human experience. Moving between intensity and restraint\, Hues of Desire invites viewers to linger in moments of attraction\, tension\, and quiet yearning. \nWhat emerges is a meditation on desire’s fluid nature—ever-changing\, deeply personal\, and impossible to define by one hue alone.

SUMMARY:Remix 2025
DESCRIPTION:Remix 2025 \nThe Americas Collection Art Gallery is proud to announce Remix 2025\, the newest edition of our annual exhibition that has become a tradition of celebrating the creative voices of our represented artists. Since its inception\, Remix has offered audiences an opportunity to experience the gallery’s vision in a dynamic format\, bringing together works that span generations\, geographies\, and mediums. Each year\, the exhibition reinvents itself—placing contemporary works in dialogue with established practices and inviting viewers to reconsider the evolving story of Latin American\, Caribbean\, and U.S. art. \nRemix 2025 builds on this legacy with an ambitious presentation of paintings\, sculptures\, and mixed media pieces that reflect the gallery’s commitment to cultural richness and artistic innovation. The exhibition emphasizes the ways in which artists engage with themes of identity\, history\, materiality\, and spirituality\, while also experimenting with form\, geometry\, and abstraction. Some works resonate with ancestral traditions and indigenous symbology\, others embrace cutting-edge visual languages inspired by science\, technology\, or urban experience. Together\, they reveal the extraordinary diversity that defines the Americas’ contemporary artistic landscape. \nBeyond a simple collection of artworks\, Remix 2025 is conceived as a conversation—between artists and audiences\, between past and present\, between the local and the global. Visitors will encounter juxtapositions that highlight unexpected connections: a sculptural form echoing pre-Hispanic cosmology shown alongside a painting that reimagines modern cityscapes; bold experiments with color and geometry in dialogue with delicate meditations on memory and time. These encounters generate new readings and expand the understanding of what contemporary art from the Americas can be. \nAs with each annual edition\, Remix 2025 affirms The Americas Collection’s mission to provide a platform where established masters and emerging voices can coexist\, enriching one another and inspiring our community. By revisiting the past while looking to the future\, this exhibition underscores the vitality of cultural exchange and the power of art to reframe how we see ourselves and the world around us.

SUMMARY:Textures in Time
DESCRIPTION:Life is not made of straight lines\, but of layers and overlapping planes—like painting\, like memory\, like time. Tomás Carranza (El Salvador\, 1974) also understands this\, as evident in his most recent artistic exploration\, Textures in Time. This exhibition not only extends the reflection initiated in his 2023 show The Threads of Time but also expands his language into a symphony of materials\, memories\, and emotions. \nEvery material in Carranza’s work has its voice. Gold\, silver\, pigments\, threads—all contribute to this visual symphony with their tone. The metallic sheets reflect a light that is not only physical but also symbolic. They evoke value\, legacy\, and mystery. In contrast\, the textiles return us to the tactile\, to the origin\, to the warmth of the skin. Within this dialogue between the ethereal and the earthly lies the true heart of the show: a visual meditation on the many layers of existence\, where his small paper boats and airplanes travel—a recurring element in his work. They glide across the canvases as emblems of longing\, nostalgia\, and search\, floating among masses of color and fields of light. Letting themselves be carried by the invisible currents of existence\, much like we do through our own lives. \nIn this exhibition\, however\, these symbols do not sail alone\, as textiles return both as medium and message. Carranza immerses himself in the traditions of Central American weaving\, utilizing techniques such as tufting and punch needlework to create works that speak to the history of Central American art through their connection to looms. \nTextures in Time is not just an exhibition. It is a journey. A space where the visual becomes experiential\, where color and material invite us to reconsider our life path. As viewers\, we see ourselves reflected in those landscapes without a horizon\, in those surfaces that remind us that life\, like art\, is always an unfinished process. Like a loom that never stops\, Carranza once again weaves memory\, craft\, and vision into these works. \n-Rigoberto Otaño Milián (Curator)

SUMMARY:Spring Awakens
DESCRIPTION:With the arrival of spring comes an invitation to begin again. At The Americas Collection Art Gallery\, this season is welcomed with the group exhibition Spring Awakens\, a vibrant celebration of transformation\, light\, and the subtle energy that stirs both the earth and the creative spirit. \nThis exhibition brings together an eclectic group of artists whose works mirror the layered essence of spring. As the world outside shifts—trees bloom\, colors return\, and light lingers longer—so does the gallery transform into a space filled with movement\, color\, and quiet revelation. Spring Awakens captures not just the season’s outward symbols but its emotional undertones: anticipation\, reflection\, hope\, and discovery. \nRather than a literal interpretation of spring\, the show presents a poetic exploration of what it means to awaken\, individually and collectively. The selected works range from serene compositions to tactile\, expressive pieces\, from minimalist meditations to bold abstractions\, each offering a different interpretation of growth and renewal. As visitors move through the exhibition\, they are invited to experience spring as a state of mind—fluid\, transitional\, and full of potential. \nThe installation is designed as a visual and emotional journey\, with textures and palettes evolving from soft neutrals and delicate tones to more dynamic contrasts and vibrant hues. This rhythm echoes the natural emergence of spring: subtle at first\, then undeniably alive. \nAmong the artists featured in Spring Awakens are Alberto Ocon\, Ramiro Lacayo Deshon\, Liv Dockerty\, Karine Boulanger\, Gabriel Gonzalez\, Ricardo Gonzalez Palacios I\, Melissa Matamoros\, Paul Hunter\, Connie Lloveras\, Linda Kohen\, Lorenza Panero\, and Tomas Carranza. Each artist contributes a unique visual language that resonates with the exhibition’s core themes\, whether through abstraction\, narrative\, material experimentation\, or contemplative imagery. \nLiv Dockerty’s atmospheric paintings lend a sense of quiet emergence\, while Ricardo Gonzalez Palacios I offers energetic works rooted in myth and ritual. Melissa Matamoros uses natural textures and tones to speak to cycles of decay and growth\, and Paul Hunter’s geometric precision reflects the invisible structures behind natuare’s organic forms. Connie Lloveras brings warmth and symbolism through ceramic works that feel both sacred and grounded. The introspective work of Linda Kohen\, especially poignant as she marks 100 years of life and creativity\, adds a timeless depth to the exhibition’s theme. \nIn presenting Spring Awakens\, The Americas Collection Art Gallery invites viewers to slow down\, engage their senses\, and reflect on what is unfolding around and within them. Spring is not just a backdrop—it is a metaphor for possibility. This show is a gentle call to open up\, to begin again\, and to find beauty in the process of becoming. \nSpring Awakens will be on view from March through May 2025. Join us in celebrating this season of renewal through a collection of works that remind us that growth often begins in stillness—and that beauty\, like spring\, is always waiting to emerge.

SUMMARY:Art In Layers: The Americas Collection Graphics
DESCRIPTION:“Art in Layers” is an exhibition dedicated to showcasing the beauty and artistic value of prints\, featuring The Americas Collection’s Limited-edition serigraphs. This exhibition aims to highlight the legitimacy of serigraphy as an art form\, emphasizing that its purpose of creating multiple originals. \nSerigraphy\, also known as screen printing\, has been embraced by numerous renowned artists throughout history\, solidifying its place in fine art. This technique involves pushing ink through a stencil on a screen\, allowing artists to create vibrant and precise prints. Serigraphy is a distinct and expressive art form in its own right. The technique allows for a unique interplay of color\, texture\, and layering that can produce stunning visual effects. It became prevalent in the 20th century as a method for producing multiples\, enabling artists to reach wider audiences without compromising the quality or integrity of their work. \nArtists such as Andy Warhol\, Roy Lichtenstein\, Robert Rauschenberg\, Jasper Johns\, and Shepard Fairey utilized serigraphy to produce some of their most iconic works. Warhol’s famous Campbell’s Soup Cans and Marilyn Monroe series\, Lichtenstein’s comic strip-inspired pieces\, Rauschenberg’s mixed media prints\, Johns’ American flag and target series\, and Fairey’s politically charged posters all showcase the power and impact of serigraphy in the art world. \nAs you explore the exhibition\, we invite you to appreciate the rich history and artistic innovation that serigraphy embodies. These prints are more than reproductions; they are original works of art that capture the essence of the artists’ creative processes. We hope that “Art in Layers: The Americas Collection Graphics” inspires a deeper understanding and appreciation for this remarkable medium.

SUMMARY:Gestures | Part II
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition encapsulates the dual facets of Lacayo’s artistic prowess\, showcasing two distinct series that converge in the vibrant world of abstract expressionism. \nIn the first part of this exhibition\, you will encounter a series of pieces pulsating with vitality and fervor. Lacayo’s first series ignites the canvas with an explosive symphony of colors\, strokes\, and impassioned gestures. These paintings embody the essence of dynamic expressionism\, capturing the artist’s unrestrained creativity. Each brushstroke echoes with a sense of immediacy\, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the whirlwind of emotions evoked by Lacayo’s exuberant compositions. \nIn striking contrast\, the second series unveils Lacayo’s mastery of control within abstraction. Here\, the artist deftly navigates a realm of calculated brushstrokes while preserving the hallmark elements of abstract expressionism. These works exude a sense of measured contemplation\, where chaos finds harmony\, and emotion meets restraint.

Lloveras has created a language particular to her practice where her audience will perceive recurrent motifs such as birds\, pots\, chairs\, and trees; they are all taken from both her observations of the world in general and from intimate spaces like her home.

SUMMARY:Summer Spectrum
DESCRIPTION:The title for this exhibition stems from the variety of colors and mediums this exhibition offers. Selected for their hues\, shapes\, and themes\, the artworks in this selection reflect the energy of the summertime\, as if sunlight had been the inspiration for each. \nComing from different backgrounds\, each artist has imbued their work with fantastic energy. Reflected either through the dynamic compositions\, or the strident color palettes\, all the pieces share a common essence\, yet each is unique in its execution and imagery. All vary in style\, ranging from abstraction to realism\, from naïf to the classical\, from geometric elements to organic ones; this is one of our most varied and fun exhibitions.

SUMMARY:Uncanny Reality
DESCRIPTION:Abstraction became one of the preferred styles of the previous century for many artists. Given its characteristics of not being constrained by forms or settings\, artists had the liberty to use color and shapes as they pleased to create works that expressed their views of the world and of themselves. Despite its popularity\, it was never able to replace realism altogether. Many artists continue to create pieces in a realistic style\, some close to academic standards\, others with a painterly approach. The Americas Collection has curated a selection of works that showcase the various approaches to realism by the hand of diverse artists from Latin America.

SUMMARY:Work in Progress
DESCRIPTION:Work in Progress \nIn Rembrandt van Rijn’s “The Artist in His Studio” (c.1628) the artist depicts a scene where he stands at a distance looking at a canvas. The atmosphere is one of reflection. Approaching a blank canvas is challenging\, not even the great masters ever found it ‘easy’. But those who decide to take on it to create art that they believe in and are confident in\, usually find their place in the art world\, and sometimes\, in art’s history. \nIn each epoch\, new artists arise and\, through their work\, allow for new ideas and sentiments to be exposed and welcomed into the world; artists today are no different. “Work In Progress” is an exhibition curated by the Americas Collection Fine Art Gallery that seeks to showcase the new insights and visions of contemporary artists. As the title states\, it is a body of work that is still being polished by these emergent artists\, but their effort seeks to become that “finished product” that conveys the sentiments of personal and shared experiences\, and the human condition and all that it entails.

SUMMARY:Classic Contemporary
DESCRIPTION:With the coming of the most celebrated art fairs in Miami like ART Basel Miami\, Pinta Miami\, Untitled\, and many more\, The Americas Collection Fine Art Gallery has sought to exhibit works that reflect the fervor of the season and the environment of these fairs. \nLocated on Ponce de Leon Boulevard in the city of Coral Gables\, our gallery has curated an exhibition that seeks to show the current environment in the world of art. Contemporary Art is a broad term\, an umbrella definition that covers a wide range of styles\, ideas\, and techniques\, but that has come to be associated with the irreverent\, the conceptual\, accompanied with a strength that rises from artists’ concerns with the current state of the world. \nBesides the works on display\, we have also planned for events in the gallery\, including the presence of one of our artists\, Danny Hernandez\, during part of the exhibition as he creates new work on one of the gallery walls. We want our visitors to be engaged\, to experiment with new visions of what art can be and has come to be\, either visually or physically during the exhibition. Contemporary art allows for an environment of free expression\, where art is no longer defined by mere execution\, but by the richness of its content as well. \n

SUMMARY:A Continent of Graphics
DESCRIPTION:Printmaking has been an established form of art for centuries past. It particularly gained artists’ attention in the west from the renaissance onward\, and during the second half of the 20th century\, woodblock prints became an important form of art for many European artists. Among the diverse techniques concerning printmaking\, Screen-printing has been present as early as 600 B.C. during the Song Dynasty in China and was used to create patterns and writings in fabric. When it was incorporated in the west\, it was used primarily for forms of advertisement on paper by the beginning of the 20th century. Later\, it gained unprecedented popularity during the mid-20th century for artists like Andy Warhol\, Roy Lichtenstein\, Bridget Riley\, and many others used it as one of the main means of production for their pieces of art. \nOur exhibition seeks to present the work of contemporary artists from all over the continent\, who have taken advantage of this technique and have worked pieces that reflect faithfully that which characterizes their work on canvas. Ideas\, subjects\, personal views\, and much more can be found within our collection of prints which have been created with the intent of showcasing the ongoing and steady path of this medium
