artist Linda Kohen Receives an award.

At The Americas Collection Art Gallery, we’re thrilled to celebrate an exceptional moment in the life of a remarkable artist, Linda Kohen. In a recent gathering attended by many of her family members, Linda Kohen was honored with a prestigious accolade from the hands of Ambassador Giovanni Iannuzzi. This recognition was bestowed upon her by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, elevating her to the esteemed title of Cavaliere dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica.

This honor is awarded to individuals who have shown outstanding merits towards Italy in various fields, including literature, arts, and economy, public service disengagement, and activities aimed at social, philanthropic, and humanitarian goals.

Linda Kohen, who recently celebrated her 99th birthday, left Italy in 1939 following the enactment of the fascist racial laws. She then made her home in Uruguay, where she began her artistic journey in some of the most prestigious workshops in the region. Over the years, she has established herself as an internationally renowned painter, continuing her brilliant artistic career by showcasing her esteemed works in Latin America, the United States, and Italy.

At The Americas Collection Art Gallery, we take immense pride in acknowledging Linda Kohen’s extraordinary achievements and contributions to the art world. Her journey, marked by resilience and exceptional talent, serves as an inspiration to us all. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Linda Kohen on receiving this well-deserved honor. Her legacy as a distinguished artist and her dedication to her craft continue to resonate and inspire within our community and beyond.
